In case you haven’t been clicking around the links on this blog lately, I thought I’d let you know that I updated my Frequently Asked Questions page.
I updated the answer to questions such as, “Are you a yoga teacher?” And I answered some new questions such as, “Why are you such an asshole?”
As I was updating the page, I thought it might be fun to answer some actual questions from readers! I’ve made up the Q&A section since SY was a baby blog. I do get reader questions from time to time, but I rarely answer them in a public way…
So Dear Readers…
This is your opportunity to ask me anything (and I mean anything–yoga questions, life questions, random questions, you name it!).
Comment below. I promise to give you a speedy response.
And… Go!

What is your view on Pilates? and do you think a fusion of yoga and pilates (Yogalates) is still yoga?

I just posted an article along the same lines as your Yoga 101 article at yogajournal.com, with instructions for experimenting with different applications of yoga. Check out "Yoga's Got An App For That" at mycrazyhealthlife.com. Do you agree? I would love your feedback! Thank you for sharing your light! ~Namaste~

Thank you for your questions. 🙂
People ask me what the difference between yoga and pilates is a lot. I really don't know much about Pilates, other than it seems like you need a LOT of big machines. Mat Pilates seems to focus a lot on core work, which can be a wonderful complement to yoga. I bought a Yogalates video when I first got into yoga. I did it a few times. I think it can certainly be yoga if it helps people come into the present moment.

Hi Amber,
Thanks for commenting! I couldn't open the page at the URL you provided so I can't give feedback on that. For what it's worth, I do believe there's an yoga application for almost everything!
