Yoga classes can be SO MUCH MORE than poses.
Through yoga classes for moms, I give pregnant moms, new moms, and moms with older children a yoga experience that leaves them feeling relaxed, rested, stretched, supported and uplifted by a community of other moms who have been exactly where you are.
What to Expect in a Spoiled Yogi Classes
NOTE: Until further notice ALL Spoiled Yogi classes are virtual only.
You’ll get the chance to breathe and practice being present, of course. You’ll get the yoga buzz that follows from stretching and strengthening your muscles and observing the softening and letting go of Savasana (Final Resting Pose). That’s a given.
In my yoga classes for moms, there’s a big emphasis on getting to know each other. There’s an opportunity to introduce yourself and share something that can help start a conversation after class–usually something happy or a challenge you’re facing.
There’s a unique opportunity to connect to other like-minded moms, offer your support, and make a new friend, too.
I’m based in Charleston SC, so you there will be plenty of moms from that area–but since these classes are held online via Zoom, yoga moms from ALL OVER the world can join us. You choose how interactive you’d like to be (turn off your camera or mute yourself if you’d like.
Have a little one at home with you? Wonderful! Me, too. Feel free to keep them with you–you’ll be muted throughout class so we won’t even know if she asks for a snack or has a temper tantrum. 🙂
Why Yoga for Moms?
Physically, each class is geared toward the struggles that only mamas can truly understand.
The yoga sequences are tailored toward repairing and strengthening the core and pelvic floor which needs extra love both before and after childbirth.
Hip opening and hip strengthening help pregnant mamas prepare for birth and help new mamas get strong again where they need to be.
Shoulder and chest opening yoga poses help ease tension that accumulates from hours of baby and toddler holding. This is also a place that many women hold the stress and anxiety that often comes with caring for a child 24/7.
Conscious breathing, mindfulness meditation, and positive affirmations give mamas tools to help them manage stress that begins in their minds. (HINT: That would be ALL of it!)
Deep relaxation melts all of the physical and mental tensions away and leaves mama feeling supported, cared for, and maybe a even a little bit, ahem, spoiled.
